http://www.stampinup.com/ca/documents/SAB09_CAN.pdf

If any of you have been debating signing up as a demonstrator this is the time to do it! It is 15% off right now! 15%!!! For only $209 you will get $410 dollars worth of Stampin Up products- that is pretty much half off!! In addition to all of the amazing products that you receive in the starter kit you will receive one bonus stamp set of your choosing- up to a $60 value! This is the absolute BEST way of stocking up on products!!! Please do not think that by signing up you have to run a business- I know many people who call themselves "hobby demonstrators". These are people who wanted to purchase a starter kit and get a discount on all of their stamping and scrapbooking products. The first order that you place as a demonstrator is 30% off and all future orders are 20% off which obviously is fantastic. It is the best way really of supporting your habit if you are anything like me! And as always if you sign up through me I will give you a little thank you gift- right now it is a punch of your choice. If you would like more information please let me know.

http://www.stampinup.com/ca/documents/SAB_starter_kit_flyer_CAN.pdf

If you are interested in hosting a party Sale-A-Bration is definitely the time to do it. I hosted one last year during this time and that was what inspired me to become a demonstrator- I got so much free product it stocked me up!! All you need to do is get 3 or more friends together for a super fun night/day of stamping and I'll do the rest. For $15 each your friends will be able to make 3 projects and leave with the satisfaction that they made those beautiful cards! As a hostess you will receive a free catalogue, the class fee will be waived and you will receive a free stamp set as a thank you from me! Plus I always like to through in little treats at the party!

Throughout the month of February there is a promotion involving online ordering. If anyone places an online order of $100 they will receive a free catalogue. I will match this promotion- I will also give a catalogue to anyone who orders over $100 in product this month. If you do want to place an online order or want to forward this to a family member here is the link:

http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx

The Big Shot class is a go- I'm so excited! I have some fantastic projects lined up. There is still room if you are interested. There will be 4 classes that will take place over the next 4 months. During each class I will be showing you how to use the big shot using various materials and tools to make 3 projects. The cost of each class will be $40 and at the end of the 4th class you will receive your Big Shot. You will be paying for your machine in installments instead of doing one big lump sum payment. I will be opening up the classes to anyone else who is interested in using the Big Shot- these classes will be $15 each. If at the end of 4 months you change your mind and want the Big Shot I will take the class payments that you have made off of the $160 total. Stay tuned for the date of the first class.

It's time for another SWAP!!! YAY!! The response to the last one was overwhelmingly positive and many of you have been asking for another swap- well here it is!! This time it will be a Birthday Card swap. You will make 10 cards and give them to me- and you will receive 10 different cards! So much fun! It's a fantastic way to get new ideas. There will be 10 people in the group- if there are more people who sign up I will start a second group. All cards must be in my hands by February 28th. Please let me know if you are interested by this Friday, February 6th.

Thanks everyone- Happy Stamping!

Big Shot Class

Hi everyone,

As I said in the last email there are sooo many fabulous products associated with the Big Shot in the new catalogue (pg. 193-203). The Big Shot is a multipurpose die-cut machine that can be used to create fabulous shapes and accessories for cards, scrapbooks and many other craft projects. I have included the Stampin Up description of this fabulous product at the bottom of the page.

When you order the Big Shot you get the machine, the cutting pads and the multipurpose platform for $118.95. I know that it is a huge investment and a lot of money all at once. I am proposing ordering one by payment plan.

I am offering a 4 month payment plan which will include 4 classes- 1 per month. Each month you will pay $40 and come to a class where you will be learning different techniques and tricks using the Big Shot. There will be 3 projects per class and at the end of the 4 months you will leave with your machine. You will feel comfortable with the machine and know how to use it. If you already have a Big Shot you can still come to the classes- it will be $15 a class.

I can't say enough about how great this machine is. You can cut through up to 8 pieces of paper at once using the dies! It makes stamping/scrapbooking sooo fast! There are dies that can cut out bags and envelopes- which saves a lot of time since all the measuring is eliminated. There are nestabilities that include up to 4 different sizes of the same shape such as circles or ovals on one die- you don't need to own a group of punches for layering with these. For scrapbooking you can cut out letters and numbers- so handy. And my personal favorite- all the dry embossing possibilities! From single images to full backgrounds I just love them.

If you already have a machine like the cuttlebug you can use all of the dies and folders in this machine. Actually, when one of my friends was debating which machine she should purchase she posted this thread on splitcoast and the positive feedback for the Big Shot was overwhelming:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=372615

I have also included an attachment that lists all of the materials that can be used- there are over 50 that you can use with the dies from cardstock to tin to denim.

Please let me know by Friday, January 30th if you are interested in the offer and the classes.

Thanks,
Shauna

PS. I have heard a lot of you say that you don't have the space for it. It really is not that big- it takes up the space of maybe 4 punches.

187- Boy Birthday Card

One of my customers was telling me how hard it is to make boy cards so I decided to use this challenge to make her one. I adore Lovely as a Tree and it is just so versatile. I like how this card came out- it's nice and simple, This was for colour challenge CC01

Recipe:

Stamps: Lovely as a tree, it's your birthday, sanded background
Paper: not quite navy, baha breeze, kraft
Ink: not quite navy
Accessories: 1/4" kraft taffeta ribbon, ticket corner punch

186- Punch Art Flowers Card

I saw the technique of making flowers with punches from this card and wanted to try it immediately. This was also my first time using the build a brads- so much fun! I will definitely be using these more often.

Recipe:

Paper: riding hood red, pumpkin pie, so saffron, washington apple DSP

Accessories: build a brad, 1/2" circle punch, large oval, small oval

185- Purse Punch Card

As soon as I saw this card I knew I had to recreate it somehow- I mean I love purses and the idea of doing them with punches just thrilled me.

I put pictures of how to make the purse straps. You first use the small oval punch to punch a hole in your paper. You then take your large oval and centre the small oval in the middle. This will leave you with your hollowed out oval. I love this technique- will definitely be using this again

Recipe:

Stamp set: All holidays

Ink: Old olive

Paper: Whisper white, baha breeze, old olive, Holiday Treasures DSP

Accessories: Tab punch, small oval punch, large oval punch, 1/4" whisper white grosgrain ribbon, silver brads

184- Parisian Love You Card

This is the card that I made for the sketch challenge this week. I wanted to use some DSP that was retiring and also my love you much set- I love how it turned out. It could be a Valentine or an Easter card.

To make the circles you use your slit punch. Punch three slits in a row, then fold the circles back to create a space. Hang this over the edge of another piece of cardstock to get the multilayered effect. Thanks Becca for showing me this!

Recipe:

Stamp set: Love you much

Ink: bravo burgundy, so saffron

Paper: bravo burgundy, so saffron, pink pirouette, Parisian Summer DSP, whisper white

Accessories: 1/4" pretty in pink taffeta ribbon, slit punch

183- Party Hearty Hat Card

This is a card that I made for the splitcoast colour challenge CC200. In a colour challenge they give you three colours and you have to make a card with them. This time it was pumpkin pie, brilliant blue and garden green. I found this challenge pretty tough- it is not a colour combo that I would normally do. I wanted to used DSP to lighten it up and have been wanting to use this hat stamp for a while. I am really happy with the finished product- it's a great card to give a boy.

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Party Hearty

Ink: Brilliant blue, pumpkin pie, garden green

Paper: Brilliant Blue, Garden Green, Summer Picnic DSP, Sweet Always DSP

Accessories: markers

The New Catalogue Has Arrived!!

I am sitting here right now with my new catalogue and let me tell you- it's fantastic!!! I'm so excited!!! From new coloured flower brads to organza ribbon to heart punches- amazing!. And good news- the print patterns in the hostess set are FANTASTIC colours this time! Finally- black and white designer series paper!! And for my quilters- there is a quilting set! This just screams Snell to me! And there is a set of ruins- perfect for my scrapbook! And- clear rhinestones!!

Something that I find interesting- a lot of the word sets are included in the body of the catalogue and not at the end with the other words. They have also really scaled back on the number of background stamps they are offering. And there are many more simply sent card kits.

And OMG you should see how many items we are selling for the big shot!!

I will be selling these at my open house/catalogue release party this Sunday. Please stop by anytime between 1-5pm for some stamping and perusing of the new catalogue. I will be selling them for $5.

There is a way to get a free one though- host a party!! Get 3 friends together for a fantastic night of stamping! As hostess I will give you a free catalogue AND a stamp set- all for one great evening of stamping! Please let me know if you are interested.

182- Pocket Silhouettes Card

Marni and I were stamping yesterday and she wanted to try the Pocket Silhouettes set. We wanted to do something quick so we went onto splitcoast to find a card. As soon as I saw this one I wanted to try it- the layout is different than others I have done and it was a different colour combo then I would normally do. I absolutely LOVE the final product- and it was such a fast card to make! It is very reproduceable and highly recommended! I also absolutely love the effect the white ink made on the card. All you do is do some tone on tone stamping first with the pocket silhouettes across the piece of cardstock. Then you go over it with the same stamp but in white craft ink. The dimension that you get is amazing!

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Pocket silhouettes

Ink: Baha breeze, kiwi kiss, pacific point, whisper white craft

Paper: Pacific point, kiwi kiss, baha breeze, whisper white, Bella Rose DSP

Accessories: scallop circle punch, 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" circle punches, white gel pen

Tip of the Week

This is one of the things that I will be doing every week from now on- I will be posting a helpful hint just to help you with your stamping. These are tips that I've learned from my fellow stampers, megameetings, blogs and conferences.

So my first one is from another blog that I visit quite often. This is to help all of you with how to ink your stamps to make sure they are fully inked and that the image will be nice and dark. She says to take your rubber stamp and stamp it on the ink pad five times- this will ensure that your image is completely covered. Then you stamp down the image on the cardstock- always make sure that you go straight down onto the cardstock and press- do not rock the stamp at all because your image may become blurred.

181- Love You Glitter Card

I am so excited to be doing the splitcoast challenges again! This is my card for the Tacky Glitter technique challenge this week. I highly recommend to all of you to try the challenges that they have- even if you case one of the cards in the gallery it is always nice to try something new. Here

Marni came over today and made this card with me. As soon as I saw the challenge I knew that I wanted to do diagonal stripes and that I wanted to use the Love You Much bundle in some way and this is what we came up with. I just LOVE it! And it was easy to do- you have to use the Sticky Strip to make the stripes. To use two different colours of glitter just remove the top of the sticky strip of each alternating one to do all the red, then when it is done use the pink. I absolutely love the finished product.

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Love you much

Paper: Riding hood red, Pretty in pink, Very vanilla

Ink: Riding hood red

Accessories: chunky essentials glitter, chunky sprinkles glitter, sticky strip

Question

Hi everyone- I just need to get some feedback. I have quite a few ideas for the blog to improve it this year and wanted to know what you thought I should do. I really appreciate all of you who read it so want to make sure that you enjoy it every time you come! So any suggestions that you could give me would be greatly appreciated

Thanks!

180- Punch Class Card 3

This card was the piece de resistance of the card class. As soon as I saw this card back in the fall I knew I had to do a punch art class- it was the inspiration behind the whole thing. And I was super happy that it was such a big hit. I mean who doesn't love Sesame Street?!

Recipe:

Stamp Set: It's Your Birthday

Paper: Kiwi kiss, pacific point, real red, yoyo yellow, whisper white, basic black, pumpkin pie

Ink: basic black

Accessories: scallop punch, double rectangle punch, small oval punch, 1" circle punch, 1/2" circle punch, 1/4" circle punch

Source

179- Punch Class Card 2

I absolutely adored this card as soon as I saw it and knew that I wanted to include it in the punch class because it is just so fantastic. I love what you can create with punches! And I like that you can give the aged look to the card just by rubbing the ink spots on the individual pieces of cardstock. This was also the first time that I had ever used rub-ons and I have to say- so handy!! And super easy to use

Recipe:

Paper: Close to cocoa, elegant eggplant, old olive, chocolate chip, so saffron, whisper white, pumpkin pie

Ink: Close to cocoa, elegant eggplant, old olive, chocolate chip

Accessories: elegant eggplant 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, jumbo pewter eyelets, crop-o-dile, scallop edge punch, 1 3/4" circle punch, tab punch, scallop punch, large oval punch, boho blossoms punch, 3/4" circle punch, 1/2" circle punch, 1/4" circle punch, black marker

178- Punch Class Card 1

Tonight I held a punch card class and it was so much fun! Thanks Katrina for hosting and to Tali for coming- it was a great night! I have been looking forward to this class for a while- I really wanted to play around with punches. It is my goal for this month- I want to keep doing more of these because they are just too fun.

So here is the first card. In my opinion this is one of the prettiest cards that I have ever done- it is just pink and floral and feminine. As soon as I saw the source card with the dress I knew I had to try one for myself and I will totally be doing this again.

Recipe:

Paper: Pink pirouette, whisper white, Bella Rose DSP

Accessories: Word window punch, tag punch, 1/4" pretty in pink taffeta ribbon, Top Notz Big Shot die

Love You Much Bundle Card Kit

Stampin' Up is currently offering a promotion on a bundle of products that will be sold in the Spring/Summer Catalogue. By purchasing this bundle you will be saving 20% off the cost of the three products:

Love you much Stamp Set
Heart to Heart Punch
Candy Lane Designer Series Paper

This bundle is available until Jan 31st and costs $50.28 (plus tax and ship). It is a fantastic deal for any of you who will be making Valentine's this year.

The products themselves are great- the punch matches one of the stamps in the set and the stamps can be used for Valentine's, weddings, showers, and many other occasions. The designer series paper has 4 colours- Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red. The designs themselves are incredibly versatile and are not specific for Valentine's so can be used year round.

Anyone who purchases this bundle from me will receive a card kit for the 4 cards that are pictured here and described below. This kit includes:

- the Love You Much bundle
- detailed instructions with pictures of the cards
- all ribbon that was used
- all paper needed to make the cards

I made sure to make one card in each of the colours from the DSP and made sure to use each stamp in the kit so that you will use every item that you purchase in the bundle.

All that you will need is the ink and any corner punches. I will send you punched out larger pieces that were used.

177- Love You Much Bundle Card 4

This is the last card in the kit that I made- I love the end effect with the punch outs. It's a different layout than I usually do and I really like it

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Love you much

Ink: Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette

Paper: Close to cocoa, Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette, Candy Lane Designer Series paper

Accessories: blender pen, heart to heart punch

176- Love You Much Bundle Card 3

This card revolved around the idea of putting the heart punch outs in the bottom corner and using this particular stamp and it built from there. I also wanted to incorporate the thick ribbon from the holiday mini into the card.

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Love you much

Ink: Riding Hood Red

Paper: Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa

Accessories: riding hood red/very vanilla 1 1/4" ribbon, 1 3/4" circle punch, scallop circle punch, heart to heart punch

175- Love You Much Bundle Card 2

This is the second card- there is going to be a new large heart punch in the new catalogue to punch out the image but for now I really like this look.

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Love you much

Ink: Close to Cocoa

Paper: Pink Pirouette, very vanilla, close to cocoa, candy lane designer series paper

Accessories: very vanilla 5/8" grosgrain ribbon

174- Love You Much Bundle Card 1

I designed a card kit for anyone who purchases the Love You Much Bundle from me. This is the first card- they are all nice simple cards that are easy to reproduce so that anyone who is making a lot of Valentine's can make them quickly.

Recipe:

Accessories: corner punch, 5/8" grosgrain Chocolate Chip ribbon

173- True Friends Card

Sheila originally sent me the inspiration for this case months ago and I have wanted to do it ever since. I also needed to make some French cards for my grandmother so once I got the set I made it right away.

Recipe:

Stamp Set: True Friends, Le meilleur do tout

Ink: Taken with Teal, Elegantly Eggplant, Old Olive

Paper: Taken with Teal, Elegantly Eggplant, Old Olive, Whisper White

Accessories: Markers, Scallop punch, circle punches

171- Sympathy Tuxedo Card

Again, another tuxedo card for my aunt's cardbox. I have been coveting this stamp forever but didn't realize we still sold the set- without offending anyone I have always skipped over the religious section of the catalogue, not realizing this was there. I just got it and am so happy- I think it will be a super useful stamp.

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Pocket silhouettes, Close as a memory

Ink: Basic black

Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White

Accessories: black embossing, word window, silver brads, ticket corner punch

170- Thinking of You Tuxedo Card

This is one of the cards that I made for my aunt's box of tuxedo cards. The minute I saw the card on splitcoast I knew I had to case it and just change up the colours- it was a fantastic layout and design!

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Baroque Motifs, Sincere Salutations

Ink: Basic Black

Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White

Accessories: Corner rounder, square punches, silver brads, 1/4" grosgrain ribbon

My New Favorite Thing

Look at this- is this not a thing of beauty? It is my new ink cabinet and god I love it! I had it made by a demonstrator's husband in Milton after I saw Jen's. He added the marker slots for me and I just adore it- he is so talented! I just filled it with all of my ink pads and markers and reinkers and I am sooo excited!!

Yes, yes I am a nerd

Happy New Year

I just wanted to say Happy New Year to all of you- I hope you had a fantastic holiday. Thank you so much for visiting my site over the past year- I really appreciate the support. I am hoping to start posting again this weekend and have a few ideas for some regular features on the blog. I can't wait to start doing the splitcoast challenges again soon- my goal for the New Year is to try to design the majority of my cards...which will be tough for me since there are so many amazing cards out there that I want to case! I also hope to scrapbook more and post those. If any of you have any ideas about cards, classes or kits that you would like to see please let me know- I always like a challenge!
