300- Dahlia Baby Card

This is a card that I made for a friend to welcome her new little girl. I wanted to make something very feminine and pretty for a beautiful new baby. She wants to make a candy themed scrapbook for Simone so I needed to think of something candy related. A dahlia reminds me of a nice big lollipop

I like using DSP when making a dahlia fold card- it's just a lot easier to make all the folds and you get a nice pattern on both sides.

Recipe:

Stamps: Warm words

Paper: Pretty in pink, whisper white, Parisian Summer DSP

Ink: Pretty in pink

Accessories: 1 3/8" circle punch, ticket corner punch, large and small oval punches, scallop oval punch, rhinestone brad, 1/4" pretty in pink taffeta ribbon

This is such a fun simple technique that was a splitcoast challenge (TLC228). You need to use a 5 1/2" x 12" sheet to make the base it so it's a great way to use up retired designer series paper.

Recipe:

Stamps: Warm words

Paper: raspberry tart dsp, rose red, whisper white

Ink: Rose Red

Accessories: Hodgepodge hardware, 1/4" whisper white grosgrain ribbon, small oval punch, slot punch

260- Baby Tri shutter Card

I wanted to make a baby card for a friend and it was a perfect excuse to make another tri shutter card. Plus I got to use the duckie wheel- I love love the duckie wheel! These cards are just too much fun and are such high impact. The colours from the delicate dots DSP was perfect for this since they are nice pastels for a baby card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Pun fun, warm words, schoolbook serif letters, duckie wheel

Paper: Whisper white, delicate dots DSP

Ink: Bashful blue, pretty in pink, yoyo yellow, pumpkin pie

Accessories: 5/8" so saffron grosgrain ribbon, small and large oval punches, white embossing, 1/2" 1" 1 1/4" circle punches, build a brad

90- Chalk Welcome Card

After months and months of putting it off I finally broke out the stampin up pastels. I tried putting them on the stamp itself before stamping and I also tried to use them by stamping first with versamark then putting on the chalk with q-tips. I have to say the second way works best- if you put the chalks on the stamp before stamping it goes on pretty faint. This was also the colour challenge this week on splitcoast

Recipe:

Stamp sets: warm words, artfully asian

Ink: wild wasabi

Paper: Burgundy, real red and wild wasabi DSP, wild wasabi textured paper, whisper white

Accessories: versamark, stampin pastels, corner rounder

81- Adorable Fruit Card

Here is my adorable fruit card- I love the tart and tangy set so much. I also bought the white gel pen specifically to do this card. I also used the sponge to put the yellow on the oranges.

My little jackpot card- how cute is that?! It's also the first time I used my new dry embossing tools- I'm not sure how clear it is but there are circles puffed up on the bottom. I am now OBSESSED with dry embossing!

Paper: Real red, whisper white, basic black

Accessories: black embossing powder, corner rounder punch, 1 1/4" punch, empressor stylus with circle template

44- First Sliding Card

This is my first sliding card- both the snake and the fish slide back and forth. I'm happy with it, but there are lots of changes that I would make for the next one...I need to use bigger animals next time...I think it will be a cat on grass!

40- CC159 Challenge Card

Sheila has now gotten me started with the SplitCoast Stampers weekly colour challenges- every week she and I will do this. I think it will be pretty fun- it's a nice challenge. This week it had to be bashful blue, grey and white- not my favourite colour combo but I think this turned out to be a nice clean looking card. I wanted it to be fresh and crisp...if that makes sense...
