302- Silhouette Congratulations

This is another potential congratulations card for a friend of mine. I tried a new technique on this card that I had not done before- I embossed the sentiment right on the ribbon. I am trying to get to more "simple" stamping- really pretty cards that don't take too long to make. I definitely think this one fits in the category

Helpful hint- make sure you use your embossing buddy and have a q-tip handy- the powder will go into the grosgrain.

Recipe:

Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes, For the bride

Paper: Rich razzleberry, crushed curry, basic black, whisper white

Ink: Basic black, white gel pen

Accessories: Black embossing, scallop circle punch, 1 3/8" 1 1/4" circle punch, 1/2" crushed curry grosgrain ribbon, ticket corner punch

301- Baroque Congratulations

This is a congratulations card that I made for a friend for the purchase of her first house. I needed to make it fairly gender neutral as it is for her husband as well but I needed to add some flourishes. It is also very eyelet heavy because I feel like I haven't used my cropodile in ages.

I used the congratulations stamp from the For the Bride set- it is my most favorite congrats stamp by far.

Recipe:

Stamps: Baroque Motifs, For the Bride

Paper: Rich razzleberry, bermuda bay, whisper white

Ink: Rich razzleberry

Accessories: cropodile, jumbo eyelets, metallic eyelets, 1/2" rich razzleberry grosgrain ribbon, scallop square punch, white embossing

Scrapbook

And for week 2 I have done a 2 page layout! I have to keep on track with this as it is a Christmas gift for my mother. My goal is to complete an entire scrapbook using only Stampin' Up! products.

I decided to keep these pages very simple and clean because I just wanted to highlight these amazing pieces that I saw in the National Museum in Athens. Just the pictures layered on the colours I'm using in the scrapbook. I will try more techniques on future pages but I like the simplicity of these pages.

300- Dahlia Baby Card

This is a card that I made for a friend to welcome her new little girl. I wanted to make something very feminine and pretty for a beautiful new baby. She wants to make a candy themed scrapbook for Simone so I needed to think of something candy related. A dahlia reminds me of a nice big lollipop

I like using DSP when making a dahlia fold card- it's just a lot easier to make all the folds and you get a nice pattern on both sides.

Recipe:

Stamps: Warm words

Paper: Pretty in pink, whisper white, Parisian Summer DSP

Ink: Pretty in pink

Accessories: 1 3/8" circle punch, ticket corner punch, large and small oval punches, scallop oval punch, rhinestone brad, 1/4" pretty in pink taffeta ribbon

299- Alligator Pop-Up Card

This is a fun birthday card that I made for a 6 year old boy's birthday. All of the alligators were clear embossed and they are supposed to be climbing on a mountain or on a boat- I'll wait to see how he interprets it.

When using the cake Pop-Up die I like to use DSP- it folds better and keeps the shape of die better. To make sure the alligators stayed on the cake I used sticky strip- I have a rule where I always use sticky strip when there is any movement on a card.

To make the alligator skin print on the card front you versamark the entire piece of cardstock and then put clear embossing on top. You then use your bone folder or another straightedge to draw lines horizontally and vertically. Once you use the heat tool you will get the alligator skin pattern. It's a really simple and incredibly effective technique

Recipe:

Stamps: Wild about you

Paper: Glorious green, tempting turquoise, chocolate chip, Hawaiian papaya DSP

Ink: Glorious green

Accessories: Clear embossing, big shot, cake pop-up die, scallop circle punch, scallop oval punch, large oval punch, ticket corner punch, sticky strip

297- Tilt Swivel Wiper Card

This card is made up of two techniques that I learned this weekend at my team's megameeting- a tilt swivel and a wiper card. The swivel slider technique was created by my upline Laura Robinson (www.hyperstamper.com). I just love the fluttering butterflies on this card- they are so cute!

To do the tilt swivel butterflies use your 1/2" circle punch twice to make an eight in the paper. Then you mount your image on pennies like with a slider card- but instead of sliding all over the card they will flutter in place. So fun!

I did a fun technique on the brads that Katrina taught me. Once you have placed your brad put a glue dot on the top. Then you dip it in your dazzling diamonds- this give a fun shimmer to your brads.

Recipe:

Stamps: Flight of the butterfly, it's beautiful wheel short and sweet

Paper: Lovely lilac, basic black, whisper white

Ink: Lovely lilac, basic black, whisper white

Accessories: 1/2" circle punch, large oval punch, scallop oval punch, 1/4" whisper white taffeta ribbon, scallop edge punch, glue dots, pennies, dazzling diamonds, gold brads, brad punch, chunky essentials glitter, tombow

Greece Scrapbook Page

Finally a page for my Greece Scrapbook! I started this over a year ago and was all gung ho. I sorted all of the pictures and all my mementos and everything organized for each page. Then when it came to actually assemble the pages it all just seemed to die because I always had other things to do.

But I'm back! Julie challenged me to a page a week and I am going to do it!! So here is my first attempt- yes I am aware that it is rudimentary but I like the simplicity of it. This will be the colour scheme for the whole album because they are the colours of Greece to me- Brilliant Blue, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White and a variety of bright pink highlights to show off the colours of the flowers that I saw everywhere

294- Alligator Surprise Pop-Up Card

It's been a while since I did a faux croc background and I wanted to do it with my alligator stamp. I used the poppin' pastel technique to colour the image- you use your blender pen with your stampin' up chalks to colour in an image that has been embossed in white. The fold of this card is a Surprise Pop-Up.

Recipe:

Stamps: Wild about you

Paper: So saffron, always artichoke, handsome hunter

Accessories: Clear embossing, white embossing, stampin' pastels, blender pen, cropodile, jumbo eyelets, 5/8" so saffron grosgrain ribbon, 1/4" always artichoke grosgrain ribbon, scallop oval punch, large oval punch, sticky strip, corner tag punch

293- Apple Suspension Card

Yet another experiment with my chalks and making a suspension card. Definitely have to keep working on my chalking techniques since it gets messy. One thing I liked was the background on the black- I clear embossed apples to add some shine to the card and I love the finished product.

Stamps: Tart and Tangy

Paper: Always Artichoke, Real Red, Basic Black

Ink: craft white

Accessories: scallop edge punch, 1 1/4" 1 3/8" circle punch, dental floss, clear embossing, Stampin' Up! pastels

Rosh Hashanah Party!

Today I got to go the Chabad Jewish Discovery Centre to participate in the Rosh Hashanah fun day. There were 10 children and we made a really fun card to celebrate the New Year (below). If you live in the Mississauga or GTA area and are interested in a stamping party for your child's birthday or another even please let me know. I would come over and we would all make three fun projects
