360- Easter Card

This was a card I made for Heather Summers simply sunday sketch challenge #3. I wanted to make an Easter card and I made it using all the in colours except the Soft Suede

To make this card I clear embossed the it's beautiful wheel all over the card. I then sponged the 5 bright in colours all over it to create a print. I also cut out eggs from the pattern to make the Easter eggs.

Recipe:

Stamps: All Holidays, It's Beautiful wheel

Paper: Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Glossy White

Ink: Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Rich Razzleberry

Accessories: Scallop circle punch, 5-petal punch, playground buttons, ticket corner punch, curly label punch, 1/2" melon mambo grosgrain ribbon, clear embossing, coluzzle

358- Easter Card

I really wanted to make a card with happy spring colours and this Mojo Monday layout was perfect for this (MOJO128). I thought this colour combo really works for easter- it's bright and vibrant.

I really need to figure out how to use my circle scissor plus because the coluzzle circles are a bit too big

Recipe:

Stamps: All Holidays, Close as a Memory

Paper: Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, Whisper White, Melon Mambo

Ink: Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, Melon Mambo

Accessories: Coluzzle, fire rhinestone brads, brad punch, big shot, texturz plate, curly label punch

348- Dragonfly Mosaic Card

This might just be the most time consuming card I've ever done but the end product was great. I used the sketch form MOJO125, the stained mosaic technique for the dragonfly and the faux mosaic technique for the rest of the card.

The techniques are described in the links above. I would definitely do the stained mosaic one again- it was super easy. The next time I do the faux mosaic I would use those sticky pages- I don't have any so tried to use heat and stick powder. Didn't really work for me so I had to use my versamarker in all the cracks and it took a LONG time. And I would probably do even pieces because it would be easier to put them all together!

Recipe:

Stamps: Bugs and Kisses, All Holidays

Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue, Ballet Blue

Ink: Night of Navy, Silver

Accessories: Clear embossing, silver embossing, sponging, coluzzle, 5/8" bashful blue satin ribbon, curly label punch

253- Wonderful You Father's Day Card- Retiring Set

This is my first Father's Day card of the year. I am going to miss this stamp set- it is fantastic for two step stamping. And great for guy cards- something we always need. Make sure to order it before it retires at the end of the month! You can click here to order it online.
To adhere the buttons I used crystal effects- you don't need to use a lot and the buttons will stay in place.
When I'm two step stamping I don't always like to line them up perfectly- if you are someone who does then using the stamp-a-ma-jig can definitely help with this.
Recipe:
Stamps: Wonderful you, all holidays

Paper: Kraft, chocolate chip, old olive, very vanilla

Ink: Chocolate chip, old olive

Accessories: Corduroy buttons, crystal effects, photo corners punch

233- Shiny Happy Mother's Day Card

My friend Chantale asked me to make a card for her to give to her mother and she had two requests- that it was really bright and really shiny. I think that it definitely meets both requirements- I used bold brights and clear embossing, glitter, beads and a rhinestone brad to make it shine.

As always when applying the beads I used crystal effects. For the glitter I used tombow.

I bought this stamp set specifically because I wanted to try the rock and roll technique. There are great instructions on splitcoast for this here

Recipe:

Stamps: Petal Pizazz

Paper: Yoyo yellow, pixie pink, lovely lilac

Ink: Pixie pink, lovely lilac, only orange, tempting turquoise

Accessories: Clear embossing, chunky sprinkles glitter, blue microbeads, rhinestone brad, brad punch, stamp a ma jig, corner rounder, crystal effects

222- Mother's Day Flower Pot

To me this technique challenge (TLC215) was perfect for mother's day cards. It was also a great excuse to use my big shot. I did the basket the same way I made it on my easter card- with the sanded background. I just love the texture effect that it gives. I also used Sticky Strip to attach the flowers so that they could stay on without being fully adhered to the insert because you want it to be able to go over the basket. Here is the link to the instructions for this technique

Recipe:

Stamps: All holidays, Sanded

Paper: So saffron, regal rose, rose red, taken with teal

Ink: Taken with teal

Accessories: Big shot, flower layers, tab punch, scallop edge punch, 5/8" regal rose grosgrain ribbon, sticky strip, natural hemp twine

219- Kindred Mother's Day Card

I made this at my stamp club today with my Rachel's Kindred Spirits set for the colour and layout challenges this week. That is my favourite thing about stamp club- I get to use new stamp sets that I don't own! I love the colours- I can't believe that I only have a few months left with the in colours! I still need some practice making perfect corners with the scallop edge punch but I'm working on it

Recipe:

Stamps: Kindred spirits, all holidays

Paper: Riding Hood red, pink pirouette, chocolate chip

Ink: Riding hood red, chocolate chip, pink pirouette

Accessories: Scallop edge punch, corner rounder

213- Easter Basket Card

This week's technique challenge was to make an Easter Basket but I really don't need one. I don't have any children to give treats to but I still wanted to do something with a basket. I don't have any Easter stamps so I used punches and scraps to assemble this.

I first used the Sanded background stamp over the so saffrom before I cut out the basket. To make the basket I cut out the third largest oval from the coluzzle for the handle and cut a piece of cardstock into a trapezoid for the base.

The initial idea for the background was to do a sunset using the baby wipe technique and a brayer. To do this you have to use reinkers and unfortunately I just didn't have the right colours to do it. I do like the way it turned out though because it is textured and bright.

The eggs were punches out from scraps of DSP- a great way to use up all those pieces that you accumulate. I then put crystal effects on top of them to make them look glazed.

Recipe:

Stamps: All holidays, Sanded

Paper: Glossy white, baha breeze, so saffron, kiwi kiss, DSP scraps

Ink: Baha breeze, so saffron, kiwi kiss, pink pirouette, riding hood red

Accessories: Brayer, reinkers, coluzzle, hemp twine, cropodile, photo corners punch, mat pack, tag and small tag punches, large and small oval punches, Crystal Effects

211- Mother's Day Card

I found it quite hard to do this colour challenge (CC210 as it is not my normal esthetic. I thought I would do a Mother's Day card with them even if they aren't conventional colours. I just got this flower layer die for the big shot and wanted to try it. I got the idea for the background from a card I received at a swap- it is glossy white paper that is sponged with ink to give it a really nice effect. I also clear embossed the sentiment over the inked sentiment using the stamp a ma jig to make it stand out more

Recipe:

Stamps: All holidays

Paper: Summer Sun, Kraft, Riding Hood Red DSP

Ink: Riding Hood Red

Accessories: Flower layer die, big shot, build a brad, 1/2" circle punch, big shot texturz plate, slot punch, 1/4" riding hood red taffeta ribbon, sponge, clear embossing

185- Purse Punch Card

As soon as I saw this card I knew I had to recreate it somehow- I mean I love purses and the idea of doing them with punches just thrilled me.

I put pictures of how to make the purse straps. You first use the small oval punch to punch a hole in your paper. You then take your large oval and centre the small oval in the middle. This will leave you with your hollowed out oval. I love this technique- will definitely be using this again

Recipe:

Stamp set: All holidays

Ink: Old olive

Paper: Whisper white, baha breeze, old olive, Holiday Treasures DSP

Accessories: Tab punch, small oval punch, large oval punch, 1/4" whisper white grosgrain ribbon, silver brads

165- Jolliest Time Free Standing Pop Up Card

This is a card that I made for my last stamp club that involved the chalkboard technique. I actually used three different methods of applying chalk on the card. I used versamark followed by chalk with the daubers for the snowflakes on the base. Then I used whisper white craft ink on the black and daubed chalk on the images- I immediately wiped off the excess. I then used a blender pen to colour in the ornaments on the tree. The more I use them the more I love my chalks.

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Jolliest Time of the Year, Snow Swirled, All Holidays

Ink: Whisper White Craft Ink

Paper: Garden Green, Ruby Red, Basic Black

Accessories: Pewter eyelet, basic black ribbon, Stampin Up pastels, corner rounder, sticky strip, Little felt fluries, pewter brads, rhinestone brad

141- Peace Love Joy Card

I didn't have the stamp or the punch for the card I saw on splitcoast so I modified it with what I have. This is the best thing about stamping- you can pretty much make any card with what you do have. This is also the card that I first tried my crop-o-dile on- the eyelets are a bit busted but it was a good first try!

Recipe:

Stamp Set: All Holidays

Ink: Basic Gray, Riding Hood Red

Paper: Always Artichoke, Riding Hood Red, Basic Gray, Whisper White

Accessories: eyelets, corner rounder

45- Mother's Day Cards

The first card combines two of the technique challenges from splitcoaststampers this week. This is the layout challenge and the colour challenge. It took me a while to figure out what stamps to use with the layout but I really wanted a mother's day card so here it is. It also gave me a chance to use this alphabet set for the first time.

The second card is another citrusy Mother's day card- I just think they are fresh and clean spring colours.

The third one is a scallop dahlia- I love me a dahlia!!
