285- Stained Glass Rose

It has been a while since I did a stained glass card and wanted to make one. I wanted to use very soft colours so the end products was very feminine.

I don't actually own a scallop oval die but it is really easy to scallop any punch out that you have. All you have to do is slide off the bottom case from the corner rounder. You can them go around the oval and punch out scallops- it takes a while but the end product is fantastic.

To do the stained glass image I first stamped the image on the acetate with stazon. I then rubbed ink from my ink pad on a piece of plastic then put some crystal effects on top. I mixed this with a paint brush then painted it on the image. Had I had reinkers for these dies the colour would have been much darker but this is a good alternative when you only have the ink spots.

Recipe:

Stamps: Embrace Life

Paper: Bashful blue, Sage Shadow, Blush Blossom

Ink: Stazon black, sage shadow, blush blossom

Accessories: Coluzzle, acetate, crystal effects, corner rounder, photo corners punch, big shot, texturz plate

Once again I am practicing my sponging skills and following a Michelle Zindorf tutorial to inspire me:

244- Birthday Gift Card

This card is based on one that was given to me by a fellow SU demonstrator Wendy Fee. She based the design of this on the cards that you get from Chapters that hold gift cards. I used the slit punch on the insert so that you can attach your gift card.

I used sticky strip to make sure the card stayed assembled- I just wanted to make sure it was extra strong.

For the flourish stamp I used the Yummy stamp and only inked the image and not the sentiment- I wanted to make this a birthday card for the swap so I used Sincere Salutations which has my become my go to set for sentiments.

I used beads for the first time on this card as embellishment and let me tell you I love the finished product. I coloured and cut out the flower and attached it to the card. I then put the crystal effects in the centre of the card then sprinkled the beads on top. They will adhere right away and stay- you don't have to worry about the beads flaking off.

Recipe:

Stamps: Yummy, sincere salutations, embrace life

Paper: Mellow moss, pretty in pink, whisper white

Ink: Pretty in pink, mellow moss

Accessories: Dazzling diamonds, silver beads, crystal effects, scallop edge punch, slit punch, corner rounder, sticky strip

224- Rose Sympathy Card

I made this card for my grandmother because her brother recently passed away. I wanted to keep it very simple and clean and elegant. I also used a rose because her name is Rosina (got the idea from Becca). My instinct is always to add glitter and embellishments but I didn't think it would be appropriate on a sympathy card. I cut out the tops of the roses and popped them up for some more dimension

Recipe:

Stamps: Embrace Life, Close as a Memory

Paper: Whisper white, pink pirouette, old olive, Parisian Summer DSP

Ink: Pink Pirouette, Old olive

Accessories: 5/8" old olive grosgrain ribbon, corner rounder, slot punch

206- Embrace Life Sponging Card

Becca first turned me onto this amazing website that has completely inspired me. The most beautiful cards can be found here- Michelle Zindorf is so incredibly talented. We were actually going to go to her brayering workshop but unfortunately there were no spots left. She uses a lot of brayering and sponging techniques- both of which I have been wanting to practice and play with. For a little while you will see me casing these cards as I practice- I am by no means at a level where I can just create a card.

As soon as I saw this card I knew that I had to try to make it. I needed to make a 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" for a work colleague so I decided to do this. I had to make a larger background but essentially it is the same card. I highly recommend going to her website- you will be inspired.

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Embrace Life

Ink: Pretty in Pink, basic black, cameo coral, whisper white, apricot appeal, close to cocoa, creamy caramel

Paper: Apricot appeal, chocolate chip, whisper white

Accessories: clear embossing, versamarker, markers, sponges, brad punch, brads

146- Stained Glass Card

I made this card for the last stamp club. I had two requests to make try this technique so we definitely had to try it. It was also a great excuse for me to try my new coluzzle! The trick to this is you have to use staz-on and the crystal effects will stay in the lines
