These will be full cards and a great way to stock up on cards. If you are interested please email me (mcgill15@hotmail.com).

270- Traditional Ornaments Card

It's Christmas Card Tuesday! This week I followed the Splitcoast Sketch challenge for the layout (SC236). This is probably the most traditional Christmas card that I have ever made. I had this DSP from last Christmas that I wanted to use and I just wanted to keep this image nice and simple. I used the brads to add a bit of embellishment but I really wanted the focus to be the paper and the ornaments

Recipe:

Stamps: Heritage Holiday, Many Merry Messages

Paper: Whisper white, Holiday Treasure DSP

Ink: Chocolate chip, old olive

Accessories: Vintage brads, brad punch

269- Raspberry Tart Stand Up Card

This is such a fun simple technique that was a splitcoast challenge (TLC228). You need to use a 5 1/2" x 12" sheet to make the base it so it's a great way to use up retired designer series paper.

Recipe:

Stamps: Warm words

Paper: raspberry tart dsp, rose red, whisper white

Ink: Rose Red

Accessories: Hodgepodge hardware, 1/4" whisper white grosgrain ribbon, small oval punch, slot punch

268- Urban Garden Birthday Card

This is my first time doing a Mojo Monday sketch challenge- I love sketch challenges so I definitely think that I will participate again. This was a different colour combination for me but I do love how it turned out

Recipe:

Stamps: Upsy Daisy, It's Your Birthday

Paper: Baha breeze, urban garden DSP, not quite navy, basic grey

Ink: not quite navy

Accessories: 1 3/8" 1 1/4" circle punches, fine cosmo glitter

Card Swap

Hi everyone,

It's time for my next card swap!! I'm so excited! This is a great way to build up a nice card collection with some beautiful creations from your fellow stampers. Plus you will get tons of ideas.

Here is how it works- you will make ten identical full cards. You will then get 10 different cards back. This time we will be making blank cards- you can leave a spot for a sentiment if you wish but please leave it blank. Once you receive your cards you can then put whichever sentiment stamp you would like on it.

I will need these cards to be in my hands by August 22nd at the LATEST and then I will get them all back to you by the end of the month. Please make sure that you aren't late with your submissions because all the other stampers are looking forward to getting their cards back. And obviously make sure that this is your best work- and stamp the back so you will get credit for your work!

Please email me if you are interested (mcgill15@hotmail.com). If you live outside of the GTA send my your cards with a prepaid envelope so I can send them back to you.

If you have any questions please let me know- I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Happy Stamping,

Shauna

267- Backpocket Card

I can't believe how much this faux denim technique actually looks like jeans! When I saw this splitcoast technique challenge (TLC226) I thought why not make a pocket card that looks like the back pocket of jeans with a handkerchief in it

The technique is really so simple it's ingenius. You just take the ink pad that matches your cardstock and rub it down the length of your cardstock. You then take the darker colour and the white and do the same thing. After the craft white has dried you do the same thing in the opposite direction on the cardstock

Recipe:

Paper: Brocade blue, whisper white, real red DSP

Ink: Brocade blue, night of navy, craft white, white gel pen

Accessories: Vintage brad, brad punch

266- Faux Metal Christmas Bells Card

I've decided to start making one Christmas card a week so I'm not rushing at the end. I learned after getting sick last year that the more Christmas cards I have the better! Plus it's a great excuse to try new techniques with my Christmas stamps. I am going to try to post a new Christmas card every Tuesday to keep me on track.

I have been wanting to try the faux metal technique for a while- doesn't it look great? I did four layers of embossing before reheating it and pressing my stamp into the embossing. To attach the bells to the card I needed to use crystal effects because they were pretty heavy.

Recipe:

Stamps: Heritage Holidays

Paper: Gold, whisper white

Accessories: Gold embossing, scallop edge punch, big shot, texturz plate, 1 3/8" circle punch, crystal effects

265- Pears and Paisley Card

This is a very 70s inspired card. When I saw the splitcoast technique challenge (SC235) it just made me want to use this pear stamp. The colours just seemed to make sense after that. And to make it truly 70s I need to use the paisley texturz plate.

Recipe:

Stamps: Cheep talk

Paper: Chocolate chip, summer sun, old olive

Ink: Old olive, chocolate chip

Accessories: Big shot, texturz plate, 1" circle punch

264- Cheep 3D Card

In this month's Stampin Success there was an example of a 3D card that I knew I had to try. I thought this colour combination from the splitcoast colour challenge this week (CC225) would be great for this- and the little pop-up up birdies really look cute in the background here.

To make this card I had two pieces of cardstock cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"- one kraft for the front and one night of navy. I ran the piece of Kraft threw the big shot with a texturz plate to make it look more like bark.

I then scored each end of both pieces at 1/2" and 1". You adhere the last 1/2" ends together and the rest pops out. To place the birds I first punched out the circles then I used my stamp a ma jig to make sure they were in the right place. I then cut out the bodies of the birds and popped them up.

Recipe:

Stamps: Cheep talk

Paper: Kraft, night of navy, so saffron, whisper white, Walk in the Park DSP

Ink: Night of navy

Accessories: Big shot, texturz plate, 1 3/4" 1 3/8" 1 1/4" circle punches, brad punch, rich regals brads, small and large oval punches, 5/8" so saffron grosgrain ribbon, dazzling diamonds, corner rounder
